Nine times out of ten it is lack of confidence which lies at the root of a child’s failure to make good progress at school. Lack of confidence shows up as reluctance to go to school, apparently “going backwards” instead of forwards, or even being bullied or aggressive or simply miserable.

Our fully Qualified Teachers provide caring, reassuring and supportive tuition, which brings immediate improvement and lasting results across the board.

We offer tuition for children aged 5 to 16 in:

Reading – including an Early Reading Programme for those just starting out.

Spelling – specialised help for all ages to master the intricacies of English spelling.

Maths – a combination of learning methods ensures your child’s interest is engaged and enthusiasm is sparked.

English– from the very basics including handwriting and reading, comprehension and storytelling, designed to engage your child’s interest.

AND later on – our specialist Maths and English teachers will help your son or daughter get the GCSE grade they are looking for. Learning is fun at Kip McGrath.

Each 80 minute lesson is made up of at least six, carefully chosen learning activities, including a mix of written, oral and computer work. The teacher first explains each concept. Then, practice on paper and with the computer ensure the concept is properly understood and learnt. A careful balance of both achievable and challenging learning activities makes sure that your child experiences only success, which in turn builds confidence and concentration as well as independence, leading towards a love of learning.
